As your Mayor I will continue to value our brave police officers and support innovative methods of community policing so that our officers become an integral part of the community.

As a member of your City Council, I helped craft budgets that provided body cameras and salary increases for all of our officers, along with enhanced mental health services.

The Gainesville Police Department is a leader in effective policing models while other communities around the state still do not prioritize tools like body cameras. Providing our officers with these tools, among many others make them - and our community - a safer place to work, live and play.
